Dungelot: Shattered Lands App Reviews

Challenging, and fun!

Dont write reviews too often but this game has had my attention for the past couple of days. Definitely has a "grinding" element, but so far even that has been enjoyable!

Love it

Its a little buggy here and there but overall I love it. Was watching FrozenFoxy play it on YouTube and it looked really good. Only wish there were more levels.

Terrible crashes

Other than the constant crashes what do you do? Just tap tap tap tap tap.....where is the challenge

Bugged. Wait for update.

When casting a spell in the dungeon (the healing paladin spell for me), the game tends to freeze. The only way to unfreeze is to restart the app. This causes you to lose all progress which is especially disheartening during a good run. Will update review when bug is fixed. The game has great potential when it works.

So much fun in so many ways

Adventure book? Check. Rogue-like? Check. Dungeon crawler? Check. Army of Darkness humor? Check. So much to do, and so well done.

Great

This is the best one yet

6s, iOS 9.x

v1.29-Exceptional roguelite title, but there is the occasional crash. This becomes quite the inconvenience when one has made it farther than on any previous runs. A quick fix would be greatly appreciated. v1.372-Thanks for the continued support, tinyBuild!

Mansion bug

Id have given this game more stars but I noticed a bug regarding the mansion. I had purchased a perk but it went away and wanted me to purchase it again. Not sure if this is intended, if not this should be fixed.

Perfect but need a fix

I love this game but i notice many crashes on iPad Air in hideout :-/ Please fix it

The best version yet...

But please fix the bug where the game freezes when selecting a spell target. Also, it crashes completely quite often on my "old" iPhone 6. My only other issue is that sometimes the randomness is a little too random in that you get completely screwed no matter how prepared you thought you were....too many axe throwers, no food anywhere, not enough potions, etc. but such is a roguelike I suppose. Otherwise, this is by far the most superior Dungelot and basically replaces the others, though I feel like the only one that loves D2.

Update changes play

While the updates might be creative and good in a new edition, or if they were only applied to new levels, the changes are dramatic enough to change the entire game play. Im not a fan, myself. Put the development efforts towards dungelot 4! :-)

Such A Grind

It was okay for the first map, but now has become a grind. I dont mind a grind if the gameplay is fun or there is strategy, but there is little of either here. Considering the reviews, very disappointing. It has the feel of a play to win style game: interesting early then grinds to a halt. At 99 cents...maybe.

Bugs but good

Im about two hours into the game and im noticing paladin bugs when trying to spellcast. You have to force close the game and restart in order to fix it. Tedious and annoying. Otherwise, good game.

Strangely Addictive

Once I got the hang of it I really started enjoying the game, even requiring multiple run throughs to beat a particular dungeon. I havent unlocked any of the additional characters yet, but am enjoying the first character. Only had one bug where I had to force quit when I wasnt able to back out of target selection when there were no targets. Was looking for a fun fame that didnt nickel and dime you after playing Rule with an Iron Fish and it looks like this one will fit the bill! My experience is on an iPhone 6s Plus with the latest iOS.

Great game gone bad...

I really liked the game until the last update and now none of my characters can advance...so frustrated with it. A character that would make it through most of the dungeon, suddenly flails repeatedly on the first few levels. Going to quit and very likely delete the game. All from a poorly thought out update. Bravo lads.

A little buggy, otherwise fine

Bugs include: word balloons showing up behind UI (namely goblin shops), crashing after death stats appear (Im on an iPhone 6s, so.... not the hardware), unable to progress if you load a game wherein you didnt pass the first dungeon. // all of those are OK, a little annoying for a paid game (all of those mentioned bugs are CONSISTENT, not one-offs or anomalies), but theyre bearable. The game itself is part strategy, part luck. Sometimes the luck is REALLY skewed against you, to a degree that it takes the fun out of it. The more you grind (and it is a grindfest) the better chance you have of countering any bad luck, but theres no guarantee. The story is barely there, so I hope you dont pick this up for that. All in all, this is an OK game that, because theres a luck element involved, isnt crazy fun, just average.

Still fun

Though a lot more complicated

Odd at first, but yes, strangely addictive

System is interesting, not too complicated to learn, yes, luck definitely can make or break you, but there are also many points at which your decisions do make a difference. Style is fun, nice bits of humor in the dialogue. Easy to pick up and play for a short period. Ive not run into any of the issues others have cited thus far, other than the dialogue box overlap. Overall, very well done.

Enjoying this luck based and somewhat buggy game

I finally got around to picking this game up. Definitely enjoying it. I can see how the luck can work against you, but it doesnt take away from the fun. The bugs do, however. Its crashed on me once and twice it has stopped responding to my touch - in about 30 minutes of gameplay. Luckily it saves where you left off for the most part.

Great/Addictive Game-A little Buggy

Amazing follow up to the original. Allows for multiple game play environment and problem solving. A little buggy when casting spells but otherwise a solid work. Forces you to vary your characters and analyze each scenario differently. Easy to become hooked. Definitely worth the money.
